Lover's Death

My darling love,
so long have we fought
in quieted words
and dance,
never ending.

The time has come
now,
that the music shall end,
for our beautiful waltz
is for naught.

The scars have been made
the damage
is done.
I'll lay you down gently,
and whispers my kisses.
I love you always
my dear.

I'm sorry for the pain
and sorrow
that has come.
I'm sorry for the
sadness
and your tears.

I never meant
for it to be this way.

A single kiss,
my kiss goodbye
as I send you
to sleep
for the rest of all time.

I regret
that we end this way,
a poison
to your heart,
and I beg of you
hate me.
So much easier
that way,
to lessen your grief.

My heart's broken,
for by my hand
you were slain.

Nice response to the prompt! The poem flows very well and I can see all the scenes happening as if I were standing there, watching them. Great job
