there was a girl
with painted rainbows
and goodbyes
written across her forehead
for the days and moments she would
forget herself
and lose all sense of passion
that the empty letters on the table
and the bleeding ink across her notepad
would momentarily remind her
that she was alive
and then she would blissfully
fall into her rainbows and goodbyes
and sleep away the good times
that her needle point and joints
pulled into with sweet promises of
ecstasy
and escape
and this girl was nothing
but a child
trapped in the body of a woman
who had once loved
but now only could love herself
even that had become another memory
that had faded
and forgotten
and twisted and burned
against the straw at her nose
and the heaven singing lullabies
into her crumbling brain
and there was this boy
that had promised her the world
the world that she had wanted
one without rainbows and goodbyes
the one where he could pull a gun to his head
and someone would actually stop him
and there was this boy
that forgot his promise through
bleeding rainbows on his tanned skin
and i hate you's tattooed on his back
until at gunpoint he smile and fell against the needle
that had been playing in his arm
so now as the strings across her prayers
swallow her whole and she forgets
once more who she is
and who the real one alive is
she will snort in one last breath
and fall into her metamorphosis that is home
and never have to live in her nightmares
of rainbows and goodbyes
that stick gracefully to her forehead
and the world will question
as the rainbow fades away
to the canvas of a casket
of goodbyes that will never leave.

Well this is a beautiful poem.Sad but beautiful. Do you ever know of an instance where pain and pleasure become one and suffering and beauty can be poetic. Well now I have. Good job.I like this in its sad little way I think those who had never had to go through with what this person had to go through live in blissful ignorance, when in fact when your at the other end of the bullet so to speak one would just want to live in the place that holds nothing but rainbows.
PS: sounds like lyrics to luciana coil (Sp right?)
