whats this thing hanging over my head?
I think its round and maybe red
but I dont know if i know that yet
lemme push it, stupid arm things are too short
round red thing taunts me but I'm a good sport
I cant seem to reach it
oooh I wish i could bite it it looks yummi
and when I move it wiggles like my tummi
but I can't make it come closer
where's that Mommy person, maybe she can help
ill cry and see if she'll come if I yelp
and there she is, get that thing for me!
why won't she give it to me, and she's so tall
and I think she just called it a red ball
i want it i want it please!
OK shes gone and it's still far away
I've gotta try this standing thing today
nope cant reach it yet
guess I'll just make a poop

I think the earliest thing I remember is trying to get this Red ball that was hanging from that thing they put over babies cribs thing but it's weird I cant remember getting it so maybe they took it away before I could stand up and grab it. I don't remember that part

That's a mighty early memory!
We know what we know and often forget there was a time we didn't. This is indeed a nursery rhyme from a time when even cognizance itself was a brand new thing. This wonderfully imagined, and puts us in the place from which we all came but so few can recall.

Nice write from the perspective of the baby playing with 'that thing' I can't remember the name of either! Man...do you really remember that? That's one intelligent baby there! Thanks for this. It's been a yucky day, been on the phone with PC techs for hours about a problem I've been trying to resolve since last night! I needed a chuckle! You really are gifted with a number of styles my friend.
