How did you know of my secret spot,
the place I get away and talk to God .
With mockingbirds singing and the brook babbles so,
it's a place in heaven on earth you know,
God knows I will be there for it soothes my soul.
to see the sunrise and set while sitting on the knole.
Fishing pole cast into the water I then sit and pray,
for it's in heaven I am fishing for my answers today .
The water so clear it's breathtaking you see,
for I can see the fish and they can see me.
I listen to the song as Gods breeze runs his fingers through the leaves,
and I know Im in heaven and Gods right next to me.
Some people go to church every sunday and I go some times,
that is except those days when God whispers I will meet you on the river side.
Right next to the old sycamore dancing above the water twisted roots bare ,
and bring a friend to show them love and help them become aware.

A beautiful poem! Everyone needs a place like that to Go and talk with God!

Your poem is beautiful Stories, and yes I believe God is nearer when one is by the water. It could be a stream, a lake, a river, or the Ocean. It's the stillness and quiet in the early mornings and at evening time. The closeness can be felt.

Nature has away of doing that to us, bringing us one with the all mighty. Seeing his hand in everything great and small.
and like thes song goes; I walked up the mountain and looked out over the sea. And I stopped and thought;of God.
I walked the whispering forest, not a creature made sound did I hear, a timid fawn was laying there. and I stopped and thought;ofGod.
I walked the busy city, twas built by man and steel, an old one dies a young one cires. andI stopped and thought...........................of God.
The whole idea is that in nature we quickly think of God...but in a busy place we do not.
the song is a little different then I have wrote here, but its the idea I wanted to mention.
Thanks for the read; my friend.
