His Princess

Missing image
A lonely princess sat in despair.
Her heart ached for she was alone.
It seemed there was no one to care
Until the King summoned her to the throne.

"My daughter, why are you so sad?
I love you, you are mine and always will be
I have generously given you all you ever had.
What more do you desire of me?"

"My Lord and my sovereign King,
It is true you are all I truly need,
Yet my heart longs for a wedding ring
And my womb to be planted with my love's seed."

The King cried as he heard her plea.
His heart filled with love and compassion.
He said, "Child come with me and see
I will give you hope for your passion."

The King spread wide a cloud of rain.
He showed her a man filled with love,
Yet he too was crying tears of pain.
He longed for a wife as a gift from above.

The man was on the floor playing with a child.
He lifted the child, in his arms way up high.
The child laughed and giggled and smiled.
The man began to smile and to cry.

His heart delighted holding the little one.
His tears where mixed with joy and sorrow.
His heart also ached, he had no daughter or son.
Would his heart, he wondered, be lonely still tomorrow?

The princess watched with a tear in her eye.
Her heart filled with hope and love.
She turned to the King with a heavy sigh.
“Go find him, my gentle white dove.”

In the King's garden he was standing there.
He turned to her with flowers in his hand.
With a smile of delight he placed them in her hair.
On her finger he placed a wedding band.

She was the princess the King had said would be his own,
For he had asked for her when he had approached the throne.

Princess Amera has another wonderful and thoughtful " What a Man " to consider .

You really did bother to look, read, find...out about Amera before you wrote for her~~~and
    that says a lot.

I loved this, it's full of everything that Amera loves, and I bet she loved the picture with all the kids.

    Good luck,
    Bell

I really love this and I can see that you did your homework. You found out that I love fantasy poems and I love poetry that tells a story. The picture that you used told me volumes about you so you know that I love kids. I also noticed that you read quite a few of my own poems and you showed interest in my spiritual writes so that tells me that you are a man of God and that also impresses me;.I also think that you’re a hunk.

    Love,
    Amera
