A Taste for Pain

Subconsciously you sit, poking and prodding at all remaining hope.
You spilt love once and swept it away, just before it became words.
Stepped silent steps upon my chest
Collapsing my lungs, my every last breath.
The prototype of your affection rests solely on disaster,
And once more you kiss me goodnight and tell me to love again.
Love the one who with or without will wreck you,
Hold the hands of the man who stands before you.

With a smile of a thousand words and kiss that weakens even the strongest;
Dance through time in sheer desire, knowing it will never be.

Author notes

option 1 and 2.. I met a guy recently who runs right in line with everyone else who I have been interested in in the last couple years. The most amazing, cultured and intelligent man I have ever met and yet hes moving in less then three months to tailand to teach. The pain lies in deciding whether its worth the pain of not spending and absorbing as much positivity from him in this short time, or to spend the time with him and have him leave me.
