I was about 18 months as i remember Grandmother.
She lived in a wheelchair.
Her long galley kitchen.
With the old coal stove in the middle of the floor.
Shortly after he had a leg removed.
This was sad to me.
I could not think where they put her leg.
I thought this would be a problem to me.
The bathroom was up stairs.
The lights were not so bright.
There was two Gibson lady pictures at the top.
They sure gave me the willies.
I could never tell if the were good or bad.
I just didn't like them staring at me.
The always scared the pee out of me.
I always wanted somebody to go with me.
Grandpa had a big old car.
You could push out the windshield out.
This let in fresh air while driving.
I thought this was neat.
The cars were so big inside.
I sure remember that.
The back window one could sleep in.
My mom said, you were so young to remember all of this.

Scary things about an old person and the things in their houses... the detail about wondering if those Gibson girls were up to no good is funny to me.

Funny the things that stick in your mind, like the windshield in your Grandpa's car. Grandma's wheelchair would make an impression for sure.
Thank you for entering. -
Thanks for the memories, the old cars were nice and roomy, even in the front seat. They didn't have a/c, but we had heat. Those were fond days. Thanks for sharing, mac.
