They'll dance and sing with all sorts of booze from around the world,
wondering if what they're doing is right.
With the inner feeling that I might come back, on that glorious night.
Whether they're happy or not at the time of my death, you'll dance and sing all the same.
Because parties where people sit around and cry are everything, including lame.
They'll chant things like; No one Mourns the Wicked, or Ding Dong the Witch is Dead.
And although some might mean it, others will find it sad, in the back of the head...
So, like Ebaneezer or Elphaba dear, I'll be put in the ground and covered with a tiny floor.
So those who need to work off stress and funeral fudge, won't have to pretend anymore.

I hold great admiration for you that you were able to write such a true and open poem. I love Wicked and anything from it I am actually studying musical theatre in college so this really appealed to me. This is wonderful and so very true in all you say.

I love Wicked (LOL) but I don't think you're anything like Elphaba (you're not green, right?
) A great write...

I'm lovcing the last line tehre...
The idea of people actually being glad you've gone,
The tearing in the back of the head..
Much could be made of that taboo...!
