The farmer cultivated cabbages
in the careful fashion
of an agricultural man.
It takes a lot of fortitude,
a quaint sense of devotion,
to watch them quickening,
a haunting awareness of growth,
eyes to heighten, wise and sharp,
not rigid at all, just conscious of
the everlasting ripple of life.

Food for thought...literally
I never had much luck growing cabbages but this farmer does. I like the way you relate it to 'the everlasting ripple of life.' These last lines leave a thought.
An interesting, unique subject matter described in a thoughtful way.
