When I close my eyes
the one thing I see most often
as not is freedom.
I sometimes see a long road
winding around a curve
leading I know not where.
I hear birds chirping
feel the wind against my cheek
and see blue skies ahead.
What I feel is freedom as well.
The stress of the life I live,
with my eyes open,
disappears.
Within this realm
I hear only pleasant sounds.
I hear children laughing,
see mothers smiling,
and fathers sitting under a
shade tree just relaxing with
their families.
Here within this realm
I know what freedom truly is
for there isn't a boss
to order me to be at work at such
and such time,
to stay over and finish those reports.
There isn't a person yelling
at the car ahead of him
telling him to move it or he's
going to get out of his car and kick
his sorry little...
well we know what he'd kick.
So when I close my eyes
what I am seeing is an escape.
An escape to a world much more
pleasant than the one I live in
day to day.

yup I had been up for longer than 24 hours. Plus, still recovering from my upper/lower GI I had done. The med's messed me up somewhat.
