I sit here empty and numb,
Unable to block out those words you screamed at me,
Those words that penetrated my delicate frame.
I still remember the days I would fall asleep curled on your lap
And you would sing me a lullaby,
"I'll love you forever
I'll like you for always
As long as you're living
My baby you'll be..."
But now I'm lying in this gutter you left me in,
My night light is the moon,
And my heart is broken into pieces smaller than sand.
The only sounds I hear are the cars speeding past me.
Baby, you were my wish upon a shooting star,
My dream come true,
But you walked all over me,
And your footprints are my scars.
So tonight I lay on the cold, hard ground,
And sing myself to sleep.

Visual, Felt, Hard hitting, Sad
I could see, feel almost touch the tears being shed. It's the hurt from a father is what I am guessing. WELL DONE.

Well, it's for any guy that's ever hurt me, but mostly my father. He pretty much walked out on my family, walked out of my life. Now, he only comes home to sleep and yell at me for not being perfect.
