anger in vain.

These everyday moments
when the blood pounds at my temples,
threatening to overcome my composure,
are the moments when the realization hits
that I am no longer merely a child,
but an adult, a human being with responsibilities,
duties to fulfill, and people to care for.

Commments made, rude and sarcastic,
malicious and angry, painful and prudent,
cause my heart more pain than one would have imagined.
I thought I was stronger than that...
Apparently I was wrong...

And this is when the haze of frustration
begins to settle over my brain,
clouding my thoughts,
and torturing my heart...

This is an intense poem - I really like the way that you have expressed your feelings through this, and the honesty of your words makes them even stronger I like the use of stream-of-thought here - this is an interesting poem and left me thinking about the responsibilities that I have to others myself well done!

    Thank you for entering
