the colour of arrival

it will redden.  you’ll see me –
through the heartbeat of the sun
I’ll come to you.
hello will sprout from morning’s

highest, bluest vase:  tulips,

yellow and long-stemmed,
like kites,
like joy.
it will soar (how high

is happiness?).
in my hand tomorrow
will shine,
rainbowed
with new beginnings.

ah the wonder of simple things like flowers, (well i say simple lightly, a botanist might argue with me they are complex!) beauty captured in the eyes, in the nose, the scents roaming the spirit. happiness - as high as love. a good poem.

You've woven another beauty here Nicolette I guess at this point I should say ... I'm back from my 2yr exile lol. Finally got the internet connected! I hope you're keeping well. It's good to see some familiar faces and talented pens are still at work on here

Beautiful poem. It's somewhat polar to things I'm drafting at the moment, as I'm thoroughly in Xmas-and-winter mode, lol! All whites, silvers, indigos and blacks!

The earliest lines of this one are stunning. The sense of spiritual presence - that you will be there, in the heartbeat of the sun ... a knowledge of "one's presence in spirit even if not in visible/physical form". There's always comfort if we look up, I guess because that's where there's light - by day the sun, by night the moon and stars! Sometimes even staring at a peaceful ebony night sky, or the clouds as they cross the morning light, can be enriching.

    Best wishes,
    Stu

mmmm ....all I could hink of was sunshine when I read the title to this one, Nicci. For arrivals are usually accompanied by radiance and joy. All the primary colors abound in sunshine, and many more, but it takes a prism to refract the colors and a prism of heart to discern them, and I can think of no one who does that better that you. Such bloom!

Every line of this is just so perfect. This is your very best -- and everything you write is so good. This one just really captures the moment and the feeling and injects it into the heart of the reader -- like adrenaline, it got my heart going! And that intensity of emotion is all laid out gently, carefully, like flowers arranged in a vase.

Wow. I'll be thinking of you on December 11 -- have a safe trip.

So subtle, the title used as the first step into the poetry with the colour of arrival...it immediately adds the beauty of an awakening...deftly you marry your own nature with imagery of all that is natural within nature and yes...yes...yes...from the palm that is open your pure poetry gifts the dance that has begun...no measure is made of the heighth of happiness...just the ability to grow into the space that it is found...beautifully written...enabling the reader to bear witness with all the joy of a bystander viewing something special that touches the heart...
