someone left a lighter at my house
the other night.
I'm using it now,
ingesting his energy as an unexpected gift.
somewhere, now,
I feel a restless urge
a need to wander without feet
to spaceless places
beyond the signpost moon.
the quick sweet breath of cannabis
in the bag around my neck,
always around my neck,
against my heart.
I am the Shade of Dragons,
breathing smoke and ash
against the glass ceiling that pins me to this
material world.
sinuous silvery serpents against my skin
sliding so intimately against
inside and out;
as if we were an entity of mist
making love to itself,
exploring each ephemeral feature
with sensuous adoration
and the patient pace of those
who know that time
is a model
inside a model.
this close, musky, flavorful aroma
as if sampling the essence of violet petals
the veil of divinity,
rejected by others,
embraced now by myself,
falls around me,
replacing profanity
with purity,
a saber dance of crystalline grace
in five sacred hues.
Author notes
I have decided to write a few poems like this channeling my favorite drugs. This is the first because that's what I happen to be using at the moment.

I really like the way you worded everything, it is a very good poem. The flow is really good and I really think that you captured what it is like to get high very well. The imagery is great, and all in all, I think it is a very well written poem, good job!

I like the concept portrayed in the opening stanza, strange how little menial things can carry the vibe . essemc.e, and /or memory of otheres.
"a saber dance of crystalline grace
in five sacred hues." - beautiful imagery in a strong closing line. Nicely done.
