Decantered
Pained
Devoid of mirth
… bereft of kin
… estranged from truth
Left to spin between the immensities of
Heaven and earth
Until out of breath
The very vastness
The endless depth
A yawing ever widening breadth
It bends one's knee
Incites belief
Primeval things hidden
In bushes and trees
Self -centered
Mentored
Soul-strained and filled with doubt
...turned about
Circumspection the ruthless key
Locking deranged thought in an endless sea
Of mystery
We rage against aging
Search for lost youth
Afraid of the gloaming
Afraid of the truth
Fearing the twightlight
Announcing our forth coming sleep
Give up the ghost
Give up the fight
Just be

Beautifully written with depth and power. I could feel it.

wow! this is what i wanted to see in the contest. well written i loved the flow and the way it moves. the rhyme scheme adds to the poem and it feels natural. "Circumspection the ruthless key
Locking deranged thought in an endless sea
Of mystery " absolutely brilliant.
