Mortality

A glance across the landscape
Eyes roam to and fro
I ponder far away places
To which I may not go
The days fly quickly by
And time will linger not
A richness lived by few
In maddened whirls, forgot

So much that I might live for
So much that I may do
My mundane life a shackle
For the dreams I never knew
Father Time, no never marching
But vanishing in haste
I reckoned with the deity
Mortality left a bitter taste

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

Put me in the mood of Poe, it has soft and caressing tones it feels as though it could be more, the ending left me teased, wonderfully done bravo

So sadly true. Such divine wisdom here. I take it to my heart and to my inner self.

    Blessed be dear one...
