I am bruised and beaten
crumpled on the floor
there is no light behind these grey eyes
all hope
all love
all life
has left me
and I lay broken
depressed...
the cold ground is unwelcoming to me
my tattered and bruised heart
cracking more with every word
every sound that comes from your lips
the lips i once kissed
once cherished
once loved....
now I look up at you
from the cold unforgiving floor
as your eyes glare down
deep into my soul
penetrating my fragile heart
waiting for the final blow....
