The look in your eyes
I know I’m going to die
But first you have to demoralize
To kill me as I cry
You’ll never know the pain it means
To stand before you now
Not in years to come when your dreams
Haunt you with this hell
My futures gone, I know that’s true
And though I feel that it’s not sane
I have just one request of you
To kill my baby without the pain

There were a few little kinks, but overall it was very moving. It wasn't quite what I was expecting for the contest's theme. It was more like describing the picture. But despite that it truly was a great read. The emotion builds from stanza to stanza until the last one when you can almost feel the mother's pain when she asks her last request. Very good.
