JUMP! -- Comes the monster from under your bed
As ghosts in the closet play tricks with your head
Creepy voices leaking through the gap beneath you door
Kids rampage the streets, dressed by the local costume store
Shrieks of horror reverberating down the alleys of the town
Kind neighbours reward with candy, answering the door bell all night round
Everybody’s hair stands on edge as pumpkins watch them with evil eyes
Liquorice, candy, chocolates and smiles - every trick-or-treater’s desired prize
Look over there! The Grim Reaper with his scythe is approaching our yard
Inside the black shadow are a young boy’s eyes reflecting the night sky’s stars
No other time of the year could you get away with pretending to kill
Green faces and distorted bodies - the ugliness is part of the thrill
The fun is drawing to a close, parents are reclaiming their little creatures
Only the piles of candy are reminders… along with the kids’ choc-covered features
Night, night until next year, Jack.
And, LOL, it was fun! If I may be so bold, I would say I did fairly well for an Aussie who has only experienced Halloween once. =)

I think you've done very well. No Halloween there? It's really a great holiday here. I really liked and enjoyed this poem. It' s creative, well written and an acrostic. Nice
