To be your solid stone.

And it's all that I can take.
I feel what you feel,
I see what you see,
Time stops in a moment,
As you turn to me.
I want so much to help,
To be all that you need,
I want to take your pain away,
And be your comforting lead.
But I can't seem to be that person,
That person I want to be,
I can't seem to grasp the talent,
And fully make you see.
So, all I can do is hurt,
Hurt just for you,
And wish that I could be the strength,
That it takes to get you through.
Maybe someday I'll be that person,
I'll be the one who saves you,
I'll take out all of your pain,
And all of my pain, too.
So, when life knocks you down,
And you don't have the strength to stand,
Just remember that I'm here,
To lend a helping hand.

A friend of mine (who I consider to be my little brother) was having a rough time Saturday. He wouldn't tell me what was wrong, but he did inspire this poem. I know it isn't very good, but it's what came out.

Very nice piece. Love the subject mater, of course; rhyme and flow were superb. You did such an awesome job of expressing something that I think we all feel towared a friend from time to time. The meter seemed a little interrupted in places, but it wasn't too distracting or anything - just something to look at. It's so good to see something new from you!
