She sweeps the earth,
her persistence divine,
she’s the one who embraces countries
within a fiery grasp;
villages, within a watery grave.
When she tears apart the foundation on which we stand
and swallows humans and cities alike;
we are right to tremble in fear.
And when her wrath screams down
from the heavens above into a torrent of wind…
keep praying,
hope against hope that today you’ll be spared.
Watch the ocean, as it churns in its fury,
the sky as it darkens in anger.
The wind only speaks the truth, ‘something is coming.’
Where will you be when the Mothers wrath is unleashed?
Will you hide when the Fathers message becomes clear?
Perhaps you will mourn that you did not hear the words the Son spoke so clearly.
Let come whatever retribution we have inflicted.
I shall stand in the open, unarmored and accepting
and welcome whatever bounty hangs upon my head.
When the verdict is decided I shall show no defiance,
only understanding.
And if my heart is to beat forever, or one final time
I shall be there.
Author notes
It has been some time since i have written anything, and i know this is by far not nearly my best writing, i hope that as i continue on i will get better.

While I do agree that it could do with some editing I do understand intent and emotion.
Thank you for your entry. -
Wow very well written, and powerful message too!! I like it!!! My favorite line was 'And if my heart is to beat forever, or one final time, I shall be there' Although I loved the strength of the entire poem!
