Let’s grab the brush and paint away
Each stroke and line, each color and hue
our own little piece of heaven
Anything we want, we can just paint right in
The birds and bees and what we were told
to be sins
All the pleasures and joys which make us smile
All the thoughts and possibilities that leave
us in awe and wonder
Stars that go on forever without a stop
Rainbows that last as long as we please
Maybe we could even have gumdrops as trees or
we could walk along taffy made streets and
stop to taste the ground so sweet
Roses of every color and violets that aren’t even blue
We could envision ourselves in fields of delight
covered in sickles of honeydew
Let’s keep painting on this canvas of dreams
and show the world what love really means
I’ll paint something, then you another
We can take turns or we can paint together
Just don’t leave out what you love the most
And I’ll remember to add in what I keep so close
in my heart and soul
Though I’m not sure what is that you would paint
on this canvas of dreams
But I know on mine would be a vision of you and me
Stuck in a moment never to pass
With each other forever at last

this is a beautiful piece. i love the freshness, it's a whole different way to look at things. what a lovely metaphor. the wirting is well executed as well, the whole thing is vivid and imaginative and.. beautiful. did i say that already? thank you for sharing this. i'm off now to look at more of your stuff!

I sooooo love this! It painted such a vivid image in my head and my imagination tends to suck so verrrry well done for that!
I love the last stanza, especially the lines
"I’ll paint something, then you another
We can take turns or we can paint together"
that reminds me of being little and being told to take turns or do some together rather than wanting something all to yourself.
All I can say is; if this a personal piece, that person lost out because by this poem you seem an amazing writing and very sweet
