Take a Walk

Don't tell me you know what I'm going through,
for you have no idea.
You don't see the pain
in my dark blue eyes.
You don't take the time
to listen to my problems
though I sit for hours..
giving advice..
telling you you'll be just fine.
Bad hair days and broken nails
don't qualify as emergencies.

I'm tired of sitting here
in obvious pain
as you go on and on.
So you broke up, big deal..
you were cheating on him anyways.

Go ahead and tell me how you'd trade lives in a second...
I have only one thing to say before you march out the door..
Go ahead..walk a mile in my shoes
and enjoy the blisters.

Author notes

"Walk a mile in my shoes; and enjoy the blisters."

Take a walk is what you should tell those supposed friends. Good friends listen and are there through the good and the bad. I do like the subtle strength you show in this. You still have fight in you even though you have problems. A strong showing of character I think. This has a subtle wisdom to it that I think is very good.

Enjoy the blisters. That's a good way to put it and I like the bad hair days and broken nails as well. I've met a few like this too.
