poetry gave her today
in unraveled skeins and unsewn remnants
silken-wrapped inward
like a precious bride’s gift
toted in her satchel
secreted, safe, for later knitting
it leaks from ripped stitching,
this weaving of words and spilling emotions,
onto cement sidewalks
where it waits, then springs up through pavement cracks
and follows her around
like a Jack Russell verse on a rhinestone leash.

Past meets present
Future planned
Old meets new
in mesh of hands
Feet continue
steps but few
But still they reach
that place brand new
Hugs...Eddy
Nice job you two...

I loved the fact that this is uniquely written. None in the contest are like it. Very Cleverly scribed poet.
