Wars rage on in lands far away
so that we can live happy and free.
Oh it's a great cause for sure..
But have you ever thought
of the battles fought right here?
Little girls and boys
hide in their rooms at night.
Afraid.. confused..
battered and bruised by people that they love.
When will they be saved?
The headlines talk of politics,
the representatives and their stands.
Will they do just what they promise?
Murder in our neighborhoods..
teens with drugs and guns.
Aren't these the things we should be focused on?
Floods and Hurricanes
leave thousands with out homes.
So let's take actions people..
Isn't that what should be done?
Meanwhile, In other news..
our ratings have just dropped...

Ok this is way out of the ordinary for me.. and I'm not 100% happy with it.. but it's the best I could do. I saw the title and figured I'd give it a shot

I think you did great with the prompt. Society is in such a mess and something does need to be done. Actually lots needs to be done as you show in your poem. Well done!
