Cement Sidewalks

poetry gave her today,
but she took from tomorrow.
silken-wrapped inward
the ribbons spiral down.

toted in her satchel,
her treasures kept close by.
it leaks from ripped stitching,
there was never time to fix,

onto cement sidewalks.
cold, closed inward,
and follows her around,
stalking in the shadows.

There is great intensity written here poet. A sinister edge sits on the outer lines of this writ. The last line actually clinches things well! I like where you went with this poet. Quite the unexpected, and surreal.

Thank you so much for the honor of collaborating with me. It has been my pleasure. I wish you well in the challenge.
