There's a chariot drawn by sparrows
to remove misery from my life.
The seconds on a silver sundial
told me it was factual
as sure as winter produces blight.
Some sanctuaries are hidden
with golden lampposts out of plain sight.
While the snails of imposition
own only this single night.
There's eternity belonging to mated pairs
of eagles just beginning flight.

I adore the line "there's a chariot drawn by sparrows"--this left a very strong visual impression on me. I also like how you started with sparrows, and the ending reference to eagles. This is very nice, and I am so glad you wrote for this contest.
