When trouble come and sorrow stays
When minutes seem like endless days
Come to the fountain of life and refresh
Pour healing ointment over your flesh
The cold winds of the stormy sea
Blow violent waves over you and me
All seems dark and the thunder roars
No brilliant flash of light restores
In the midst of the storm he comes
At his command the violence succumbs
Peace be still he whispers to your soul
Death himself cannot exact any lasting toll
Come to him and find your rest in the storm
Come out from the coldness of death and be warm
Author notes
I'm praying for you.

Deeply moving and so exquistely formed! I loved the lines:
'In the midst of the storm he comes
At his command the violence succumbs'
Sometimes we have to wait until our darkest night to see the stars. Wonderful!

You entered my contest and I decided to check out the last poem you posted and I’m glad I did. This is a wonderful statement of faith penned in a wonderful contemporary sonnet. It’s rare to see a sonnet penned with an aabb rhyme structure but you pulled it off well.
Love,
Amera
