dreams and faded jeans

poetry gave her today
what yesterday was when
silken-wrapped inward
seeing eyes were tears she
toted in her satchel

it leaks from ripped stitching
and pock marked sentiments
onto cement sidewalks

soiled with "in her shoes"

and follows her around

momma never was that good with needles

I love the feel of these words. They scratch at the surface and dig beyond the skin. Yes...this is poetry. Loved that last line! Nice depth spilled here!

I am esteemed to have collaborated with you poet. I wish you well in the challenge.

'silken-wrapped'<--okay, so she wrote that; but that's awesomely hyphenated

    'pockmarked'<--one word alone.

Love that ending with momma and the needles; it's quirky, leaves you thinking about your familial life and well...it's just so good.
