Goth Childs Dead Time Story ( Old MacDonald)

Old MacDonald had a farm as many of you well know
But when I’m finished with this tale, you may not want to go
Noises come from that run down barn on many starless nights
Screams can be heard for many miles and chills the air with fright.

Now Johnny was the bravest soul, the skeptic in his pack
And vowed he could dispel all rumors and bring back only facts
But Dusty Lee, the market girl, begged him to stay clear
Because she knew that Mac D's farm was something to be feared

But Johnny just shrugged her off and stepped inside the fence
And worked the pad lock on the gate, with his pocket wrench
Now inside, the great barn doors he stumbled to the floor
And almost gagged at the sight as he wallowed through the gore

Above him were large meat hooks and bodies lined in rows
And on the table to the right were shoes and stacks of clothes
Something dripped onto his neck he couldn’t quite make out
It took everything he had inside not to pee or shout

He couldn’t believe what he viewed and crawled closer to go see
And that’s when he saw the old farmer there, kneeling on one knee
He looked Johnny square in the eyes and said “Yer’ a good size critter!”
“I only use the choicest cuts when I make my fritters!”

Then farmer Mac raised the hook he held firm in his hand
Came down hard on Johnny’s skull then dragged him to the pan
He flayed the skin cut the fat and set aside the gristle
And put the heart in a cast iron pot and brought it to a sizzle.

In the grinder minced and diced
Poor Johnny finely ground
then packaged in link sausage cases
MacDonald drove into town

Mac Donald’s farm had much fame
For it’s fine meats and deli wares
“There are all kinds of Critters in Old Mac Donald’s Fritters”
Was his slogan, at the county fair

So next time you shop in a little farm town
And you stop at the country store
You are what you eat when you have Mac D’s meats
And it may be a friend of yours.

Author notes

This was truly a tough one to convert. My kiddo asked me if I could make it creepy...I told her I will do my very best.....tell me what you think..eh??? Oh and no animals were hurt in this story "Spawn"

O.O My oh my! That was certainly creepy!! You definitely achieved your goal of making it dark. Another great write! I'm glad I waited for the whole tale rather stanza by stanza. Most certainly enjoyed the little twist on things. I'll never be able to sing or hear Old MacDonald so innocently again. Very well penned ^^. Keep it up.
