Sorrow is felt
over the fairyland forests
as news filters
that one of their own gentle souls
is suffering.
Tears freely flow
watering the delicate flowers
that raise their solemn faces
for solace from the sun,
its welcome warmth
seeping into their spirits.
Wildlife wanders in small groups
as if lost,
birds are quiet
as there is nothing to sing about;
the moods are somber.
Then rose buds unfurl
throwing sweet smells and bright colors
for all to see,
in hope of brightening
the surroundings.
Bees join in, buzzing busily
among the offerings,
dragonflies dart
in and out of the gardens,
hummingbirds begin returning
amusing all with their antics.
Fairyland comes alive,
all embracing faith
as they join together in support.
In the midst of grief
there is giving,
in the midst of anguish
there are helping hands,
in the midst of death
life still remains…
in the memories,
in the beauty of nature.
