Cloistered

Missing image
I cannot say when I realized
that I was cloistered by that sky:
soft, purplish hue of cobalt high
embracing me in misty sigh.

(Sometimes in wordless peace I know
that life is tears in laughter's glow;
that sorrow is a silent plow
preparing rows for seed we sow.)

And yet, I know a place, an ode
to sun, in yearning burnt to gold;
where rain, in rivers over reef,
is heaven's comfort to earth's grief.

(As every traveler needs a guide,
although she's agile in her stride,
this poet waits in peaceful poem,
finally, on her way to Home ...)

My Love, when winter grass in sway
whispers the glee of child at play,
hear giggles of the stars in dart:
my soul, then cloistered in your heart.

    Congratulations on the gold. I am positive when the time comes no sky will hold you your soul down on this earth but I am glad that a tiny part of it is cloistered in my heart.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

      Thank you so much for the Gold in this contest ...

      which I enjoyed, for obvious reasons! Glenheath is my own Eden. I cannot stop writing about the land of my fathers ... Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do it here in your contest.

      Love
      Myra

    Mesmerizing! with its grace and beauty. Especially the line that touched me, "that sorrow is a silent plow, preparing rows for seed we sow" So many good lines...very wistful. The picture looks like a view of heaven on earth.
