As sunlight warms my pillow I yawn and stretch my arms
The morning softly calls me to look upon her charms
My dressing gown awaits me, "wake up you sleepy head"
I slip inside this cosy and climb out of my bed.
The crisp, cool air is bracing, I snuggle in my nest
A log upon the fire, a cup of tea my guest.
As I scrape on the butter upon my toasted bread
I see a wooly headscarf and wrap it round my head.
This cabin is my solace, a place to think things through
I sit upon the sofa and dream again of you
I drift with the firelight, pretend that you are there
This moment in a lifetime that both of us could share.
Within the depth of winter I sit here on my own
Yet I am so contented for I am not alone
The memories still linger within these wooden walls
So I can still return there, as soon as evening falls.
Soft moonlight sends a message as through my window streams
a message from the heavens, within the land of dreams
I make a cup of cocoa and sit a minute more
Oh yes, my dear I'm waiting, as you knock on the door.

I love the imagery in this poem. It's very clear and I can almost place myself there, yet it's subtle and not overwhelming or forced in. You've done very well writing this piece. The only suggestion I would make is the second to last line you said "I make a cup if cocoa." You may want to change that to "I make a cup of cocoa." Good luck in the contest!!
