by a rock strewn parapet on a path of stone
an aged woman waits in a white silken gown
there she stands hair thrown to the wind
upon a face weathered her lips turn to a grin
remembrance of a gift in thoughts of him
she lifts her eyes to a star blessed sky
and to the elements she lets her soul sigh
her skirt billows and she takes a step
to each movement each measure her heart is met
dancing to a phantom medley of bygone years
while words crest and fall to a pool of tears
her arms held high as if adorning a form
round she reels till the blossoming of morn
and through the breeze she can hear him sing
forever my love on this band I bring
etched from my heart to this simple thing
in undying love you are my everything
when the moon is full and the stars fill the sky
upon that stone path you can still hear her cry
yet eternally enclosed within a weary heart
her words in death as by life nay to part
her arms wrapped around a destined empty lot
as love still surges just as it was wrought
her eyes shine with gossamer dew
as her lips draw slowly to a grin anew
