Knots of Cycles

A Leaf falls from the Tree
making Ripples over the Water
in the Stream of Life
in the Flow of Consciousness

Yggradsil weeps her sap
wise woman collects the arbor tears
GHOST DEER FLEES PAST -
FASTER THAN LIFE'S OWN TRANSCIENCE

You very rarely see Yggradsil mentioned in poetry these days, very obscure reference that not many people would know about.

    Very thoughtful, contemplative piece.

    Good write.

Thanx hoss, I had never heard that term until reading a book on the elder futhark runes called "Leaves of Yggradsil" by Freya Ashwynn. By far one of the most thorough books on the runes and the Norse pantheon. I love that word for the world tree, it just stands up, branches out, and rolls off the tongue.

    whos Yggradsil
this is a strange poem and its a bit hard to understand i had to read it over a few times and im not really sure what it means
but thats the good part about this poem, it makes you think

i think it means a person (the leaf) can fall (or just move away from) from the flow/trend (the tree)
and enter their own stream of life... and im not so sure about the last line in the first stanza

and im still confused about the 2nd stanza

Yggradsil is a term for the world tree, of Norse origin. Seed of creation kinda thing.
its a spiritual write based off the old ways
the second stanza refers to shamanism, and then weaves in a hint of native american referance with the whole ghost deer bit refering to how life can pass us by before we realize it. thats just a surface skim as I am too hungovver to give this the necesary attention it warrants and the depth of which it was originally cast.
