Jenny's Prayers

Missing image
Only the smallest of angels knows how to pray,
it's how they flutter about as they play.
Secrets for their dolly with crayons there,
yet her prayers with her dolly she does share.

Grandma is hurting today for I didn't see her smile,
and Papa is worried about money all the while.
Mama is so busy tending hearts with love,
so dolly these prayers I give you please send them above.

She places her notes in the pocket of the apron her dolly does wear,
then goes to the window and to the north star she does stare.
She bows her little head and sclasps her tiny hands,
and in a whispers she replies God it's me again.

I need my Grandma to smile for me,
and Mama needs help with the chores please.
Papa well maybe make his job a lighter load,
for we are a loving family this I think you know.

As she lay down this night and drifted off to sleep,
unaware that the Lord her soul he did keep.
She dreamt of a time as she had grown,
and was the helper her Mom  needed all along.

The next morning she rose with such joy this day,
she went in and kissed her grandma and gave her a big smile so displayed.
For she had a secret only God could show them the way,
and through her childlike understanding brought them a brand new day.

Papa looked upon her and whispered how's my girl?
Oh she was excited and danced and whirled.
She whispered in his ear papa everything will be alright,
then with a smile she told him God talked to me last night.

Im growing up fast and Im stronger than you think,
I will be helping Mama with the dishes at the sink.
I can smile and help grandma with her pain,
and we can all be happy again .

Children have such a way to heal the soul,
for they are given Gods secrets you know.
Often as they sleep they in heaven play,
and listen to the whispers of Gods loving grace.

I thank God every time I see my little boy, for I know he's such a gift. This poem is just spectacular. A gentle reminder to all of us just how special and priceless our children are.

Lovely. This poem is really nicely put together. I noticed one mistake - the title "Jennies Prayers" should be "Jenny's Prayers". Just a small grammatical error. Otherwise, it was very good.

Light and loving, profound and poignant. Thank you for listening to this quiet child's heart and amplifying the message to the rest of us. She has undoubtedly blessed your life and you have spilled that blessing on to us.
