These Passing Years ...

I have watched the many faces
that you’ve faced throughout two years,
I have seen the many visions,
some of laughter - some of tears.
I have sensed your indecision
with the changing of each scene,
And I’ve felt your moods of magic
when your thoughts revealed each dream.

I can’t say I really know you -
like a lover or close friend,
Yet we share an open window
as we glance around each bend.
Let the road that lies before us
lead us to that place of peace,
So the path we leave behind us
is the one we now release!

Keep on writing, keep on sharing
all the thoughts that come to you.
One day, perhaps ~ I hope we meet
where fluffy clouds, climb skies of blue.
Perhaps there’ll be a poets room
where we can share with humble peers,
And love will reign supreme at best
so we let go, these passing years.

To tell you the truth this is what I like most about this site. Being able to share freely that feeling of closeness that the fellowship of the pen brings is to me what poetry is all about. As always you do it with style and grace. Good luck in the contest.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

    Beautiful Sentiments, Joy!!!

I've been fortunate to have "virtually" met you here on AP. I remember you were one of the very first poets who welcomed me to this site and you have been faithfully reading and commenting on my work ever since. I have also gained much inspiration and introspection from reading and delighting in your wonderful poetry, and I thank you for sharing your heart with us. I look forward to many more years ahead of your joyful company in our mutual passion for poetry, and I wish you all the best in everything you do!! Thank you for your thoughtful entry in my two-year anniversary celebration!! Take care... and thanks again, you've made my day complete!! Peace always, Cyn

How nice. I will congratulate her too. I don't know her though...lucky Cynthia!

What you've sescribed is that whole person, I mean a whole person, with all our sides, angles and whatnots.

And isn't this site good for some things...sharing that window, that little world that is part illusion, part real..fascinating really...and unless onewriter engages to a deeper level with another, they remain at that intriguing plain, half-knowing, half-imagining what the other is about. I do that with you, you probably do that with me, though I'm pretty much an easy nut to crack, nothing too deep beneath the shell.

But we all share that window you speak of, looking at the same view which is very different for each of us. You see roses, I see turnip greens, I bet Cynthis sees roses too...I must be the problem here.
