From The Reaping Of My Yesteryear.

Limbs askew
we fell together
in the humus of fall.
Corn silk blond hair
graced my face
as candy apple red lips
added spice to
our youthful passion.

Thanksgiving came early
that October in your arms.
Honeysuckle perfume
and the scent of crushed leaves
still linger in my memories.

The innocence of your
cornflower blue eyes
bright like a harvest moon,
held the awe of
a first loves glean.

I relive each
cherished moment
when I kick step,
childlike
through Autumn leaves,
Soft, dappled
sun blessed breezes
caress my face,
much like your hands did,
and I am swept away
to that moment in time,
multi-colored
and vibrant
in the folded back
calender of my mind.
