~ Peace
In my center
I shine
Disconnect body and mind
And madness
And remain still in the quiet of
Divine light and calmness
~ Madness
What drives men insane
When consumed by their brains or brawn
Feeding the ego
Spoonfuls of preconditioned goals
To make them greater
Their souls are buried somewhere within
And they don’t even know themselves
The fine line between body
Spirit and mind
Separation of selfish motivation
I forgive myself
For my confrontation with the mirror
But it is clear now
And serene
When greed empowers
Men fall to their knees like failures
If outcomes don’t prevail
If they don’t sail through
But they’ve never walked in the shoes of a stranger
Or cared to know
Before they cast a man to hell
Labeled and judged his soul
In this moment, I let go
Of everything that holds me back
Or makes me react uncertain
And in knowing I am more than this-
Knowing there’s no limits to the dream
When a soul awakens
And grows its wings
They will fight among themselves
With the mirror, their sleepless nights
Their lonely fears
And drive until they have no more drive
And wish they felt alive again
Like their friends that just pretend
Unconscious and robotic
I walk the floor no more
But sit dead center in the silence
And I navigate within
Where there are no puppets dancing
No dog and pony shows
- I am know I am completely aware
Of peace among the madness
Author notes
I wanted the "centered text" to be right-justified... should be able to read as one piece, or down each column.
Please tell me what you think

Stunning.
Am working my way through some of this
I think I recognize another poet soul -
i love dog and pony show references - makes me remember the weekend auction when i was a wee lad. with a shock top cacophony of allegiance behind your pen, you whittle and chistle the obvious away with and expedient stream, aware that what is left to brim is edging toward the rim of your own brass stein, and bound to flow over.
(check your "they're" in line 6, second stanza - should be "their", I believe).

excellent
the duality of it all. Ego & id. the self offered to the world and the SELF no one knows, but the 'I am.
( my last name is 'Goodside, and I have been aware & known both the good and the bad ).
I seem to have noticed, both the female and the male,
but then, that just may be me.
Well done. enlightening.

Hey!! I just read each column separately, and it added a new dimension to the poem for me. After reading peace and then madness and then the whole you can see where they collide and where they separate and yet still see each as a separate poem almost. I hope that makes sense.

a great peace here, soulful thoughtful and meaningful. i like what u did with the text and how each was a seperate train of thought but also the two were shaped round each other.

It works this way. Read down the left, center, or straight along.
