The dream brought back,
My old great uncle Norman,
dead now for a while
and never dreamt of before.
He was a schoolmaster.
I have reason to believe,
that in real life,
he disapproved of me;
I was a writer and didn't drive a Mercedes.
In the dream, he called on others in the class,
ignoring me, then said something insulting
about my insults to him years ago.
Not a good preparation for the day
but I forgot until now
until I wrote this poem.

I like this. Both dreams and poem often make a person considering and contemplate things they may not have thought about in a very long time.
I'm enjoying going through your poems.

dreams are so disconcerting when they come in the early morning like this - they can throw off the whole day. Too bad it wasn't at all pleasant to see a long lost relative. and Funny that something like "professional jealousy" would rear its head here, when he is long gone.

Well written
Sometimes we grab at the air and pull something amazing from there into our minds, Than we turn it into poetry. Very good write this is and goes to show one can write anything when they put their mind to it.

Hmmm a bit of comical relief for the disturbing moment of surreality. Its amazing what we dream about sometimes, things we haven't thought about in ages seem to surface. Thank you for your entry & Best wishes in the contest!
