Blame it on your restlesness
Or perhaps your lack of fame
Anything but what it is
(that you never became)
Chalk it up to just bad luck
A lottery you never played
You pride yourself on never learning
How to take the blame
(you'll still call me insane)
Call me hostile, what you will
Tell me through your wicked pills
Remind the doctor that you're ill, but
- it's not because you're wasted
Hit me once, hit me twice
All your words cut just like knives
Remain deaf to good advice, but
- it's not because you're wasted
(you say)
It's just because of me
The things I did or did not do
You're dreaming that I'm sitting here
Wishing I was with there with you
Just swallow your little pills
Mix them with your bitter brew
(A victim of the Brown Bottle Flu)
Then, call in sick, you're such a joke
Pretending you're about to choke
The "Hair of the Dog" swirled in your Coke, but
- it's not because you're wasted
Get away with murder, tell more lies
Ignore the rules, they don't apply
Within lives pain that you disguise, but
- it's not because you're wasted
(you say)
It's just because of me.
What did you feel?

This was pretty cool!
Often refrains can become cloying and repetative, but not here. It is coherent and brings structure to your work.
This is a good poem on the subject of lazy alcoholics. Nice work!

Bitterness told from both sides. Nice.

Excellent
Excellent imagery within this well-written piece.
Great flow of the unforced rhyming verse.
A very well thought out and structured composition
and an abundance of truth within
its content!
Well Done!

I agree with the thrust of your poem. Point out the bastard's faults and let him burn in his own hell.
Great job.
