"I saw the never-ending fabric of infinity twisting in my dreams,
and it shattered within me an unbreakable fear."
O, little me with two closed, sparkling eyes,
Searching dreamscapes with no concept of time,
I wandered through shadows cast from moonrise
Where Goliath's fear lives in pantomime.
While moments morph into infinitity,
Dreams become nightmares with savage unrest.
Breathing becomes labored inside of me;
I wandered labrynths. Hope fled from my chest.
Darkness of the Abyss bled through my soul,
Stealing the light once kindled within me;
Wove my essence with the dead of Sheol,
Yet, my eyes, they open, and I will see.
Dreams are merely mirrors that can reflect
Where within my heart, I cannot cathect.

I love this sonnet. It's a great response to the prompt. The rhyming feels natural and it's very easy to read, can't find much awkward or stilted about it. Great job

Outstanding
I thought this was a powerful sonnet with some strong images- I especially liked the way you started the poem with your eyes shut and finished it with them open. I thought it was an excellent take on the quote. Best of luck in the contest.
