Prayer for the Life

Grant me desire for eternity,
Where days fall by the way.
Give me eyes for infinity,
To see to Whom I pray.
Give me a mouth to praise Your name,
In this here and now;
Legs to stand without shame;
A will always bowed.

Give me wisdom of Your heart,
And take all I know.
In this world let me shrink
And for You let me grow.

Give me, Lord, the Life of lives,
The Light that gives You glory.
A work that makes even angels surprised,
Your Name the banner of my story.

    Beautiful

    I liked it very much. The "will always bowed" and "Give me wisdom of Your heart, and take all I know" especially spoke to me. Very crucial things in living a life pleasing to him; a life that counts for eternity! I couldn't help remembering the words, "Only one one life, so soon it will pass. Only what's done for Christ will last."

    Very heavy! A great prayer/song! To long to live in eternity si what we all need, to be with God forever! The only thing to long for that really counts!

    WOW...

    ... Now THIS... THIS is poetry, Big Brother!

    It reminds me of something else I've read- a small piece of a much larger poem by William Blake:

    To see a World in a Grain of Sand
    And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
    Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
    And Eternity in an hour.

    It's from "The Auguries of Innocence."

    I think this one is worth copying! VERY NICE!

      Shoot!

      I didn't want it to be just stupid poetry.

      I wanted it to be CHRISTIAN poetry! Rats!

      I guess I'll have to re-do it!

      Thanks, li'l seestah!
