Mr. Diamond Bright

Waistcoat buttoning to the strains of strings
Chopin or Liszt it matters not,
glistening, satined bow straightend in place,
hair brylcreamed smoothly,
moistened impeccable to taste, perpetually  kempt.
Old school values, appointments kept, always prompt
sharp on the dot, never letting anyone down.

Diamond bright is what he was known,
dazzling all his way in the world.
Best of attentions guaranteed, dependable,
distributions always leaved many agog
at his debonair, originality but quirky flair.
Applicatory times always indulged,
meal times too refrectory bulged,
finest wines, moules marinere creamed
in garlic carefully prepared,
but all the while he never knew,
chinks of glass in crystalled cheers,
cartier time predicts the toll,
under the surface decay was brewing,
choosing the accrue he ignored at length.

Serious attention now did beckon,
no longer to treat with such contempt,
paperwork signing to seal the deal,
but you need to cut to learn and heal.
This is something he did discern,
one step ahead,
he should never have doubted,
all would be well
if only he'd acted and
never put off what he needed to do.

Author notes

The poem for the prompt was brilliant, a great inspiration but one that I fear would be difficult for me to achieve and aspire but I enjoyed the challenge, hope you enjoy the read x x
