Where does one begin
To pick up the pieces
Of a broken heart?
The final words spoken
Are painful reminders
Of a love now lost.
Days and weeks pass
There is no comfort
In a lonely bed.
Tear soaked pillow
Broken dreams
Battered spirit.
Only a fool
Believes in fairy tales
And happily ever after.
Eventually everyone leaves
Abandoned heart and soul
I am alone.
Author notes
Not much left to say, except maybe coping.

I think at one time or another in our lives, we all have been at this point. I'm am now happy for the precious memories I hold dear in my heart. The pain has all but faded but the scars still show. We have remained friends and I am very thankful for that. I hope your scars aren't deep and that time has healed the wounds. Thank you for reading and commenting.
