When rain falls,
droplets rest
upon skin of anticipation,
rolling;
plump beads
awaiting nourishing hands;
smoothing and bringing to life
a parched desert
left alone too long.
Shining pearls
arrest heartbeats,
as the window
becomes a curtain
between death
and an oasis.
