Ruptured eyes and laden tongues
fondle roving gaps of inattention
left seeping
through the missing pane
of hastily pried displeasure
veiled
amidst skin-deep folds
of barren hawthorns
stark against a lacquered sky
and conducive stains
whilst deciduous reason
was futilely seized
by an unspoken calm-
atop the cracking plaster...

Your first two lines hit hard with strong verbiage that draws a reader; so appropriate for both the given image and word prompts in this contest. Thank you.
I liked "fondle roving gaps of inattention" particularly. This shows a nice use of language for the hard image you present.
"deciduous reason" is also an interesting line and I like it. This transit thought presents the impermanence of the moment and leaves one with the subtle hope that this too, shall pass.
I enjoyed this very much and thank you for such an expressive entry to my contest. Best of luck in the judging. ~Pamela
