When life seems to take it's toll
I will stand by you.
When you've trouble finding your soul
I will help you through.
These tragedies and memories
that tore our worlds apart.
The burdens and betrayal
making us not trust our heart.
I guess it is all over now
there's nothing we can do.
Confiding in each other
it will lead us to what's true.
I don't really know
where our souls will head from here.
but I can make this promise,
I will never disappear.
Our lives have suffered many things
we had to let them go.
There's many things that you've been through
that I will never know
But I can guarantee you
that I'll try to understand.
When you think you've lost your way
I'll lend a helping hand.
Standing here together
in a fragile bleak abyss.
Finding ways to fill the void
to place our souls in bliss.
You are earning my respect
cuz I consider you a friend.
You seem to have loyalty
so I'll be there until the end.

Thank you, I am so glad that you enjoyed it. I tend to be someone that is a straight to the heart, honest person. Something, that unfortunately is lacking in the modern world. I try not to be so cynical, but I've seen nothing to prove me otherwise.
I'm glad you decided to read it, it was my attempt at dfining what a true friendship should consist of.

I absolutely agree with you. All parties involved are fortunate. A promise that I shall keep with anyone who is blunt and loyal. Anyone from my present and past would tell you, I never go away willingly, I leave that choice up to the other party.
Striving for success within friendship. Everything is earned and I give what I am given.

Well, thank you, I'm glad you like the poem. It's about a man "myself" who has trusted and has been betrayed in past indeavors. To find the kindhearted soul of another, but to this time not be so naiive and to go about it the right way.
Both have been through trials not the same, but similar. Trust is something hard to rebuild and to attain, but The Stand is worth it.

This friend or friends you write to, are very lucky to have you in their life... and I am sure that goes vice versa. Loyal Great Friends... are so rare! Thats all really I can say on that... but I hope you never delete this, something I'd like to come back to and read again and again.

Well thank you, apparently the friend that it was about commented to it and really liked it "wink wink."
So to you my dear Canadian friend for which belongs to a rare breed of honesty, know that I also consider myself very fortunate to have you around as well. I still think this is a cheap spin off of the last poem you wrote, but it is what it is eh?
I cannot wait until next summer when our 2 beings can come together to form the inner circle of awesomeness "hahaha, inside joke." We're gonna make it, and I'm glad I have you there to watch my life rise from the ashes to become something I never thought I could attain. I will be there to watch you gain success in your field of interest.
Words that I had sung to you last night, that I believe we can both live by. "If it takes forever, I will die trying." And, "sometimes goodbye is a second chance." I know you know what I mean, and I could go on a long sentimental rant about this, but I won't bore you to tears.
All I have to say is, thanks for being a friend, and over time I think we could blossom into an even better friendship. With the values of trust and loyalty we will become something great, greater than our enemies had ever thought that we could achieve.
