Your body has been cold for a month now
A month, with out your voice, your comfort
And it just hits me now a month after you left
You’re never coming back
But still, the reality that your heart
Hasn’t been pumping
That you can’t breathe anymore
That your dead and gone your heart along with it
It’s hard to grasp, what you don’t want to
Your lips are cold, no life to heat them
Hands, pale, with no one to hold them
Slowly I close your brown eyes now and forever
Your lifelessness touches me, and I can feel the cold
I can feel the numbness of a dead body
As I look down on you
The wound on your arm still deep, that wound was the end of you
If only it could heal
If only I could have done something
Jake, I’ll never forget you
