REAL MAN
my father, rest his soul,
taught me about being a real man
about life and honor and women
life was to be lived
honor was to be foremost
women were to be loved
i have lived and drained
the last drops of delight
from the fragile goblet of life
i have never taken anything
that was not given freely to me
i have not deserted honor
i have loved many women
never been guilty of using
or dishonoring one of them
but love them i did, fiercely
passionately, tenderly ravished
their soft, curvaceous bodies
adored their beauty of spirit
admired their keen intellect
honored the complete woman
i am like the restless wind
never stationary for very long
here today, gone too soon
like a lovesong strummed
on a spanish guitar and sung low
recalled with a smile when silenced
